Commonwealth Tenpin Bowling Championship.

25th February, K.Lumpur: Malaysia's Adrian Ang and England's Hayley White led the 12 men and women finalists in the Masters first block finals of the V Commonwealth Tenpin Bowling Championship on Friday.

Without a doubt, Adrian Ang is the most consistent bowler in the championship after having won the All Events gold medal yesterday. And today, the 22-year-old showed his consistency to win four and drew one match in the 6-game round-robin finals for a total of 1353.
Despite a poor start in his opening game in which he bowled a low 165 opener, Ang didn't give up hopes and displayed the fighting spirit that hase earned him his spot to represent host country Malaysia in this championship.
Mixed Doubles gold medalist, Matt Miller kept up the pressure on the Malaysian but had to content with second position with five wins and a total of 1299, 54 pins adrift the leader.

Chris Jaap of Wales, who qualified for the finals in 11th position, surprised the favourites to finish third with 1275 despite winning only three matches.
Singles gold medalist, Zulmazran Zulkifli finished fifth position with 1251, 14 pins away from fourth-placed, Chris Castle of Australia on 1265.

Meanwhile, Women's Doubles silver medalist, Hayley White of England set course for England's third gold after she topped the women's division with a total of 1387 from five wins.
Malta's Sue Abela, who also won five matches, took second spot with 1331 followed by triple gold medalist, Geraldine Ng of Singapore in third with 1281 from four wins.
Australia's Ann-Maree Putney and England's Nicki Ainge rounded up the top 5 with totals of 1266 and 1207 while local hopefuls, Zandra Aziela and Siti Safiyah Amirah ended a disappointing sixth and 12th position.

The Masters finals will resume with the second block over another 6 matches at the end of which the top 3 men and top 3 women would advance to the stepladder finals for the final gold medal of the championship.
